Logan Square resident and all-around cool person, Kristin Marks, put together two hours of non-stop jams to complete your dining and drinking experience. As a founding member of the Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP), this gal knows what she’s talking about. Oh, and when she’s not busy winning Chicago Reader polls, she’s also an integral member of Logan Square’s Summer Girlfriends.

Dust off your sequins and get your dinner coat dry-cleaned, because we’re officially asking you to be our New Year’s Eve date!
Masa Azul will be offering a special, one-night only (duh) New Year’s Eve dinner package. Chef Jonathan, Jenny Kessler and Jason Lerner have been cooking and shaking up their snazziest dishes and drinks. Ringing out the old is a lot easier when you get to do it with four delectable courses and appropriately stellar beverage pairings, don’t you think?
Got a swinging party to get to? Don’t fret! We’re hosting two seatings, so you can still show off 2012’s best moves on some dancefloor after our 6:30pm seating. Or make Masa Azul your last stop for the night and score seats for the 9:30pm seating (includes a champagne toast - you’re welcome).
Tickets for the four course, prixe fixe menu are $65 (excluding tax and gratuity). Each course will have suggested beverage pairings, to be priced a la carte. Jenny is even putting together a special expanded list of Champagnes for the evening!
And drumroll please…the menu:

Looking for a fun cocktail to make for all those holiday parties you’re attending this month? Jenny’s Polka Dot cocktail (appearing in this month’s TimeOut Chicago Kids) is the perfect mocktail for the family-friendly crowds. If you’re looking for some more mature action, Jenny has included the adult (read: booze) variation.
It’s Eater Cocktail Week! To celebrate, Eater Chicago has tapped a few of the city’s best bartenders to create special Eater-inspired cocktails. And wouldn’t you know it—Jenny Kessler’s at the top of the list:
Mister Wilson - Fina Estampa Reposado tequila, pomegranate-molasses syrup, Carpano Antica, Protos Tinto Fino ($10)
Mr. Wilson is available at Masa Azul, but only until Friday, when Eater Cocktail Week is over. But then again…what week isn’t cocktail week at Masa Azul?
Is there such a thing as ‘too many chefs in the kitchen’? Not at Masa Azul… We believe that a culinary whole is often greater than the sum of its parts. It’s in that spirit that MasaAzul’s Executive Chef Jonathan Zaragoza will welcome Charles Welch, Sous Chef of Michelin-starred Sepia, to present a special one-night-only five course dinner.
Of course, cocktails and spirit selections will be aplenty, courtesy of the combined talents of Beverage Director Jenny Kessler, resident ‘Agave Evangelist’ Jason Lerner, and Jason Baldacci of Owen & Engine.
It all comes together on December 3rd, 7:30pm. $65 per person; beverages, tax, and gratuity not included. To make reservations, call (773) 687-0300. Only 40 seats available!
Check out the dinner menu:

Braised Goat and Butternut Squash Empanada
Seared Scallop, Rajas Grits, Chorizo-Lime Vinaigrette
Pork Belly Al Pastor, Fresh Blue Corn Tortillas
